Dartmoor Pony

I never saw a moor, I never saw the sea; Yet know I how the heather looks, And what a wave must be. I never spoke with God, Nor visited in Heaven; Yet certain am I of the spot, As if a chart were given.

Emily Dickinson

  2. The pony seems in contemplative mood.
Funny, I never gave much thought to there being people who might never see the sea - living on a small island it's so near to us but and something we take for granted.
